How to Get Away with Murder (Saison 1)[modifier | modifier le code]

Notes & Trivia[modifier | modifier le code]

  • This is the only season to feature Findlay as a series' regular.
  • Except Viola Davis, who is the lead actress of the series, the rest of the cast members who are billed as regulars are arranged in alphabetical order, judging by their second names.
  • During the sex scene, Brown throws Davis up against a wall in the Keating House, which resulted in her blowing out her back. The injury had Davis requesting that producers cool it with the sex scenes (at least for a little bit) so she could recover.
  • Due to some complaints that the flashforwards were too hard to follow at times, the flashforwards are slightly simplified for the following seasons.

One in which Rebecca killed Lila, one in which Sam killed Lila, and the eventual version they settled on, which came as a result of Nowalk hating the former versions. "Because I was like, 'Why does this not feel fun or that surprising?'" he explained. "It's hard for me to believe that Sam would strangle a girl [...] and this is what we do — we just throw out everything we know and come up with a new version." Nowalk says that when he suggested to Michael Foley that perhaps Frank did it for Sam, that was when it clicked for him.

Meanwhile, Frank must come to terms with the things he has done while Wes continues to get closer to finding out about his past. * Part of the reason the Season 2 finale took place at Annalise's mother's house is because of the demand for Cicely Tyson's return (the actress who plays Ophelia). Nowalk claims the question of when Tyson would come back was one of the most asked questions from the first season: "For me, it was just figuring out a real reason why she would return, but also, we're literally just working on Cicely's schedule." Once they found out Tyson's available dates were around the time of the finale, this triggered the idea of taking the finale out of Philadelphia.
* Although he had no idea how Davis would deliver the "he needs to go" line, which Annalise says to Bonnie, Nowalk insists she "did it perfectly". It's yet to be revealed whether Annalise meant murdering Frank, but the line was purposely written to be ambiguous.
* The writers weren't 100% sure that Caleb would be the murderer of his parents because Nowalk feared it would be "too obvious". "That is something we went back and forth with a million times and it just felt like the best answer as we came up to it."

Notes & Trivia[modifier | modifier le code]

  • After the second-season finale, it was confirmed that every series regular was expected to return for the third season.
  • On March 18, 2016, it was announced that Conrad Ricamora who portrays Oliver Hampton had been upgraded to a series-regular for the third season following his initial guest appearances in the previous two seasons.
  • This is the final season to list Alfred Enoch (Wes Gibbins) as main cast. His small appearance in Season 4 was credited as guest starring. This is the second main cast departure in the series, the first being Katie Findlay in Season 1.
  • This season focuses more on the relationships of the characters rather than the plot itself. This is because Peter Nowalk wanted to change the nature of the show and move the focus from Wes and Annalise's relationship. This is also why Wes was killed off.
  • Production began on May 27, 2016, when showrunner Peter Nowalk announced, on Twitter, that the writing staff was in full swing mapping and writing the third season.
